SHEN - QI - JING, the practical aspect     May 2025

Tae-Hunn Lee (an acupuncture practitioner from England, following Joan Duveen for over 25 years) was teaching in December 2024 in Finland, and there's more to come. Below is Hunn's description for the upcoming course weekend in May. You can participate to the course even if you didn't attend in December 2024, and even if the Stems and Branches are unfamiliar.

"In the 3 days, we will work on the practical aspects of Shen – Qi – Jing. How can we feel these aspects on the Pulse, what does it mean and how can we work with it practically in clinic.

For this, we will have to go into a discussion on our understanding of Shen, Qi and pre- and post-natal Jing, the role of Minister Fire and of the San Jiao and Pericard.

From there, we will start to look at the Stems and Great Movements in more detail. We will be looking at the trigrams related to each Stem, how we can practically work with the Stems and Great Movements.

We will also look at 5 Element Pulses, quality and quantity, and the concepts of sedation, tonification and dispersion."

BaZi, the Origin of Destiny, an exploration of the 8 characters     April & May 2025

the Finnish Classical Acupuncture association has negotiated a three-part Zoom training with Elio Basagni, an expert in BaZi calculations. The topic related to the hidden Stems is less commonly covered in basic and advanced training sessions and literature.

"In this seminar, we will explore the concept of BaZi, which describes a person's life using eight characters 八字, drawing from ancient East Asian traditions. This knowledge can provide acupuncturists insights into a patient's inner self and their potential causes of internal imbalances."
